Imagine if it was possible to click your fingers and...everything was done!

You know the feeling...you're swamped!  Emails, faxes, appointments, phone calls, requests, problems, solutions!  Everything requires time and attention...just what you don't have.  What if you could click your fingers and the proverbial fairy godmother appears and organises the whole thing.  The business is a breeze, your life is a breeze!  Yeah right...this is the real world isn't it?  Well guess what...it can happen.

Jump forward 3 or 4 months, the business is calm, you know exactly who does what and when...and so do they!  There's no questions, no confusion, your business is running not lurching as is normally reality.  It's running at rapid speed directly towards your goals.  Goals that everyone knows and is working towards together the same way again and again with complete predictability.  So now the tough question, what would you invest for this to be real?  Five, ten, twenty thousand dollars?  Of course you would without so much as a thought, just do it!  Pleeeease!

So here's how-

  1. Open your mind and imagine this is possible
  2. Forget everything you think you know about business systems
  3. Visualise a perfectly formed business systems manual that is orderly and contains everything that anyone in your business has ever written about how you do what you do
  4. Imagine that those who need this systems manual can get it whenever they need it, wherever they are and find anything fast

This is not a dream, call us fast to get your business running again.

The top 5 strategic actions to take right now

  1. Define what your business will look like when its done & when that will be.  Make a 1, 2 & 5 year projection of your business and if possible set a time frame for a future sale of your business.  Make a spreadsheet with column headings like turnover, profit, markets, products, employee numbers, debt level and others and make rows with 2009, 2010 & 2013 then put the big picture targets in the cells.

  2. Document who or what has to help you or change in order to affect each of the changes to these variables.  Items that should be addressed include identifying what will change in relation to training new employees, recruiting new employees, coaching for you and key decision makers, research and development of new products and markets, finance solutions, new software solutions etc.
  3. Systemise every step of every process in your business.  Until you've documented the way you do what you do, you are making it up every day.  Define the right way and write it down so that new employees have resources to assist with induction, training and upskilling so that everyone within your business as well as customers and suppliers receive a consistent and reliable product and service.  This approach must not just be focused on the delivery of your product or service but the complete business including documenting your finance systems, human resources systems, management systems, sales systems, marketing systems, administration systems, quality systems and more.  Understand the intricate web that exists between the processes that occur in one area with those of another.  The effect of this will ultimately tell on the final pay day for your business...sale day!
  4. Discover the 'face' of your business to the outside world.  Experience first hand the paths to your door from a customers perspective.  Make phone in and email inquiries from all of your marketing sources to ensure that they are operating how you intend.  You would be amazed at how many internet inquiry forms that you complete on web sites that are never responded to...is that you?  Further to this measure the cost of acquiring leads from each source and either stop completely or radically reduce the expenditure on those avenues that produce the least cost effective results.  Just because your competitor does it doesn't make it right!
  5. Ask questions.  Ask your employees, customers, suppliers...everyone.  Implement a job satisfaction survey that seeks feedback anonomoyusly from your employees about their roles and the systems they work within.  Ask your customers to tell you what you did right and most importantly what you have done wrong.  Tell them that you are on a mission to become the best <insert product/service> in the market place and that their feedback is vital to you being able to give them the service they deserve.
